Comments

3. Online Donations & Tax Receipts (CanadaHelps)
Online donations made to the Columbia Institute / Centre for Civic Governance are processed securely through CanadaHelps, a registered Canadian charity that facilitates online giving.
- Data Collected: Name, mailing address, email address, and financial payment details (credit card or banking information).
- Payment Security: Full credit card details are handled directly by CanadaHelps in compliance with strict PCI-DSS security standards. CCG never sees, receives, or stores your full credit card or payment information on our servers.
- Tax Receipts: CanadaHelps collects your contact and address details to issue official charitable tax receipts on our behalf and provides CCG with your contact information so we can acknowledge your gift.

4. Email Updates & Newsletters (Mailchimp)
When you subscribe to our newsletter or opt-in to receive updates about our work and civic governance research, your contact details are managed through Mailchimp.

- Control & Unsubscribing: Every automated email sent via Mailchimp includes an “Unsubscribe” link at the bottom. You can update your preferences or remove yourself from our mailing list at any time with a single click.

What rights you have over your data
If you have an account on this site or have left comments, you can request an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any information you have provided to us.
