2026 Spring Conversation Series

We’re thrilled to announce our Spring Programming for the Campaign Trail, a series of virtual and in-person workshops designed to equip you with the tools you need for the year ahead. Whether you’re a seasoned incumbent or running for the first time as a school trustee, mayor, councillor, regional director, or area director, this programming is for you. We’ll cover:

  • Climate education policy challenges for school trustees
  • Communication strategies in a time of mis/disinformation
  • A two-part series on countering the far-right in the 2026
  • How to talk about public safety in a time of polarization and fear

Building support for progressive candidates and electeds is more urgent than ever. That’s why we’ve decided to open this series up to new candidates and returning electeds alike. If you know someone who is mission-aligned and is considering running, bring them along.

How to Talk About Public Safety in a Time of Populism and Fear
With Community Action Initiative (CAI)

Community safety and street disorder are quickly becoming the key issues of the 2026 local government election. With the rise of populism, fear and quick fixes are dominating the public dialogue. In this webinar, Community Action Initiative will host a panel of local elected officials who will share how they talk about community safety to concerned constituents and business owners. This session will provide real instances of community leadership as well as a primer on key messages related to community safety, mental health, and substance use.
